Harvest Festival One Tin Challenge!

Dear Parents and Carers,
Our Harvest Festival One Tin Challenge
As part of our Harvest Festival celebrations, we will be collecting food to support our local food
bank. We are asking every child to bring at least one tin of food to school. If every member of our
school community brings just one tin, together we can make an enormous difference to local
families.
Food banks particularly welcome tins of:
• Meat, such as ham, corned beef or chicken
• Fish, such as tuna, salmon or sardines
• Soup
• Vegetables
• Fruit
• Tomatoes
• Potatoes
• Ravioli, spaghetti or other tinned meals
• Custard or rice pudding
However, we will be very grateful for any tin you already have available, provided that it is
unopened, undamaged and in date. One tin is wonderful, but families are very welcome to
contribute more than one if they wish.
Please bring your donation to school. We will have a large collection box on the playground, where
children can drop off their tins as they arrive. Harvest Festival is due to take place on Wednesday
30th September. Harvest is a special opportunity to give thanks for all that we have and to share with
people in our community who may be experiencing difficult times. Every tin will help.
Thank you, as always, for your kindness and generosity.
Kind regards,
Jo Herrero
