Star Rise is the SEMH Specialist Resource Provision at Holy Trinity C of E Primary School. Rooted in our Christian vision, "Rooted in faith, we reach for the stars," Star Rise provides a nurturing, structured and inclusive environment for children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Through therapeutic and relational practice, personalised learning and meaningful inclusion opportunities, we support children to thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

Who we support
Star Rise is a Specialist Resource Provision for children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs who require a more specialist, nurturing and therapeutic approach than can typically be provided within a mainstream classroom alone.
Children attending Star Rise will have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) and will typically:
- Have SEMH needs that significantly impact their ability to access learning, build relationships and regulate emotions
- Benefit from a smaller, highly structured learning environment
- Require enhanced adult support and therapeutic, relational approaches
- Need personalised provision that goes beyond ordinarily available mainstream support
Many pupils may also present with:
- Autism and neurodivergent profiles, including ADHD
- Attachment and trauma-related needs
- Communication and interaction difficulties
- Sensory processing and regulation needs
- Anxiety-based school avoidance (EBSA)
- Difficulties with emotional regulation, self-esteem and confidence
- Challenges with social understanding and peer relationships
Our aim is to provide specialist SEMH support whilst maintaining meaningful opportunities for inclusion within the wider Holy Trinity school community, enabling every child to feel safe, understood and ready to learn.

Inclusion within Holy Trinity C of E Primary School
Children attending Star Rise are fully valued members of Holy Trinity C of E Primary School. While benefiting from the specialist support, nurturing environment and personalised provision offered within Star Rise, pupils remain an integral part of our wider school community and are encouraged to participate in school life in ways that are meaningful, successful and appropriate to their individual needs.
We believe that inclusion looks different for every child. Therefore, opportunities for mainstream access are carefully planned and personalised, taking into account each child's strengths, interests, needs and EHCP outcomes. Our aim is to provide the right balance of nurture, support and challenge, enabling pupils to develop confidence, independence and a strong sense of belonging.

Working in Partnership with Families
Parents and carers are partners, not visitors, in their child's educational journey.
We work closely with families through regular communication, review meetings, EHCP reviews, transition planning and target setting. We also work alongAside a range of external professionals to ensure a coordinated approach that places the child at the centre of all decision-making.
Admissions and Placement
Star Rise is a Warwickshire Local Authority-funded SEMH Specialist Resource Provision.
Placements are agreed through Warwickshire County Council SEND consultation processes and children will typically have an EHCP identifying SEMH as a primary or significant area of need.
Families cannot self-refer directly to Star Rise. If a placement is agreed, a personalised transition programme will be developed in partnership with the child, family and current setting.
